I have decided to do my project on the recently released game 'Halo: Reach' for the Xbox 360.
The game is a prequel to the original game 'Halo: Combat Evolved' and is set in the year 2552.
The game is based on a long war between Humans and a collective of alien races called the covenant on the planet Reach.
The game uses dark colour schemes to show the dark times of war. Colour schemes between the humans and the covenant are very different to show that the alien race are more advanced than the human race. For example the alien race use vivid colours like purple and blue which are associated with futuristic weapons such as lasers and plasma, Whereas humans use colours such as greens and grays to associate with metals and earth.
I'm going to base my project around the multiplayer side of the game which includes the forge world which allows players to create their own maps for use with online play. I intend to use a capture card to be able to record game play to use in the promotional video.
